Brow Eligibility & Safety Guidelines

Your safety, comfort and wellbeing are our priority.

At Chic Couture Beauty, we are committed to providing safe, professional cosmetic brow tattoo treatments.

Before booking, please carefully review the following information to ensure your skin and health are suitable for the procedure.

Certain medical conditions, medications and recent skin treatments may affect your suitability, healing process or pigment retention.

If any of the following applies to you, please contact us before booking. We may recommend a consultation or medical clearance before proceeding.

1. General Eligibility

Age Restrictions

Cosmetic tattoo treatments are strictly available to clients aged 18 years and over.

Alcohol & Recreational Drugs

We cannot perform cosmetic tattoo treatments on clients under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. Please avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

We recommend waiting until breastfeeding has ended and your body has had sufficient time to recover before booking.

2. Existing Cosmetic Brow Tattoos

If you have previously had your brows tattooed, a consultation is required before booking.

Please send us a clear, close-up photograph of your brows in natural lighting, without makeup or filters.

In some cases, an in-person consultation may be necessary to assess the existing pigment, colour, shape and skin condition.

Not all previous brow tattoos can be successfully covered or corrected. We will always provide our professional and honest assessment before proceeding.

3. Medical Conditions

Bleeding Disorders & Haemophilia

Cosmetic tattooing may not be suitable for individuals with bleeding disorders due to increased bleeding and healing risks. Medical clearance and an individual suitability assessment are required.

Diabetes

Diabetes may affect skin healing, particularly when blood glucose levels are not well controlled. Please consult your treating doctor before booking.

Autoimmune Conditions

Certain autoimmune conditions and immune-suppressing treatments may affect healing and increase the risk of complications. Medical advice may be required before proceeding.

Epilepsy

Please disclose your condition before booking. We may request medical clearance depending on your circumstances, triggers and treatment.

Cancer, Chemotherapy & Radiation Therapy

If you are currently undergoing cancer treatment or have recently completed chemotherapy or radiation therapy, please consult your treating specialist and obtain medical clearance before booking.

HIV, Hepatitis & Other Blood-Borne Conditions

Please confidentially disclose any relevant medical circumstances that may affect healing, bleeding or treatment suitability. We may recommend medical advice where clinically appropriate.

All cosmetic tattoo procedures follow infection prevention and control standards for every client.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Hormonal changes and certain medications may influence skin condition and healing. Please inform us if you are taking hormone replacement therapy or other hormonal medication.

4. Skin Conditions & Healing Concerns

Skin Irritation, Eczema, Psoriasis & Dermatitis

The treatment area must be healthy and free from active inflammation, irritation, rash or infection.

If you experience eczema, psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis or another skin condition affecting your brows, please contact us for an assessment before booking.

Sunburn & Damaged Skin

We cannot tattoo sunburnt, peeling or damaged skin. Please allow the skin to recover completely before your appointment.

Keloid & Abnormal Scarring

If you have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, please let us know before booking. Cosmetic tattooing may not be suitable due to the risk of abnormal scar formation.

Allergies & Sensitivities

Please inform us of any known allergies or previous reactions to tattoo pigments, topical anaesthetics, antiseptics, latex, adhesives or skincare products.

5. Medications & Supplements

Blood-Thinning Medication

If you take anticoagulants, antiplatelet medication or other prescribed medication that affects bleeding, please consult your doctor before booking.

Never stop or adjust prescribed medication without your doctor’s approval.

Fish Oil, Vitamins & Supplements

Please advise us of any supplements you take, including fish oil, herbal supplements and prenatal vitamins.

Some supplements may affect bleeding or interact with medications. Do not discontinue medically recommended supplements without consulting your healthcare provider.

Isotretinoin (Accutane/Roaccutane)

If you are currently taking or have recently completed isotretinoin treatment, please contact us before booking.

A medical assessment may be required to determine an appropriate waiting period and treatment suitability.

6. Skincare Products & Recent Treatments

Retinol, Retin-A, AHAs & BHAs

Products containing retinoids or exfoliating acids may increase skin sensitivity.

As part of our studio preparation policy, we recommend avoiding these products around the brow area for approximately 2 weeks before your appointment, where appropriate.

Prescription treatments should only be changed following advice from your prescribing clinician.

Avoid reintroducing irritating active skincare products to the treated area until the skin has completely healed.

Chemical Peels, Skin Needling & Laser Treatments

Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks between intensive skin treatments affecting the brow area and cosmetic tattooing, depending on the treatment and your skin’s recovery.

Botox & Dermal Fillers

Where possible, we recommend spacing Botox or dermal filler treatments around the brow area approximately 4 weeks apart from cosmetic tattooing.

Important Information

Cosmetic tattooing involves implantation of pigment into the skin. As with any skin penetration procedure, possible risks include infection, allergic reactions, swelling, scarring, changes in pigment colour and uneven retention.

Healed results vary depending on individual skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, medications and aftercare.

A touch-up appointment may be recommended to refine the healed results.

Your health and safety always come first.

If you have any concerns about your suitability, please contact us before securing your appointment.

We reserve the right to postpone or decline treatment where there are reasonable health or safety concerns, following an individual assessment.

Thank you for your understanding and for trusting Chic Couture Beauty with your brow journey.

With care,

Chic Couture Beauty
