Skin Rejuvenation Eligibility & Safety Guidelines
Your Skin, Your Safety, Our Priority.
At Chic Couture Beauty, we believe beautiful skin begins with professional care, personalised treatments and a commitment to your wellbeing.
Our skin rejuvenation services are designed to support healthier-looking skin, improve its appearance and enhance your natural beauty.
Before booking your appointment, please carefully review the following eligibility and safety guidelines.
Certain medical conditions, medications, skincare products and recent treatments may affect your suitability for facial treatments, skin needling or radiofrequency procedures.
If any of the following applies to you, please contact us before booking. A consultation or medical clearance may be required to determine the most appropriate treatment for your skin.
1. General Health & Eligibility
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
As a precaution, we do not perform microneedling or energy-based skin rejuvenation treatments during pregnancy.
Some treatments may also be unsuitable during breastfeeding, depending on the procedure, products and medications involved.
Please inform us if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy so we can assess suitable treatment options.
Alcohol & Recreational Drugs
Treatments cannot be performed on clients under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
Please avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before invasive or intensive skin rejuvenation treatments.
Feeling Unwell
If you are experiencing fever, a contagious illness, an active infection or are generally unwell, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
2. Medical Conditions
Diabetes
Diabetes may affect the skin’s healing ability, particularly when blood glucose levels are not well controlled.
If you have diabetes, please inform us before booking. Medical advice may be required for invasive or intensive treatments.
Autoimmune Conditions & Immune Suppression
Certain autoimmune conditions or medications that suppress the immune system may increase the risk of complications or delayed healing.
Please consult your healthcare professional before undergoing skin needling or intensive rejuvenation treatments.
Cancer, Chemotherapy & Radiation Therapy
If you are currently receiving or have recently completed cancer treatment, please contact us before booking.
Medical clearance may be required for treatments that affect the skin barrier or involve radiofrequency energy.
Bleeding Disorders & Blood-Thinning Medication
Skin needling may not be appropriate for clients with bleeding disorders or those taking certain anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications.
Please disclose any relevant medications before booking.
Never stop or adjust prescribed medication without approval from your treating doctor.
Epilepsy & Neurological Conditions
Please disclose any history of epilepsy or relevant neurological conditions, particularly before light-based or energy-based treatments.
Suitability will be assessed according to your medical history and the specific equipment used.
Heart Conditions & Implanted Medical Devices
If you have a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, electronic medical implant or another significant cardiac condition, please contact us before booking radiofrequency treatments.
Some radiofrequency devices are unsuitable for clients with implanted electronic devices.
3. Skin Conditions & Sensitivities
Active Acne & Skin Infections
Treatments involving skin penetration cannot be performed over active skin infections, including infected acne lesions, cold sores or open wounds.
Some gentle facial treatments may still be suitable depending on your skin condition.
Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea & Dermatitis
If you experience an inflammatory skin condition, please inform us before booking.
Treatments may need to be modified or postponed during active flare-ups to avoid further irritation.
Sunburn & Damaged Skin
Treatments cannot be performed on sunburnt, peeling, broken or severely irritated skin.
Your skin must be fully recovered before undergoing exfoliating, needling or intensive rejuvenation treatments.
Keloid & Abnormal Scarring
If you have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, please disclose this before booking.
Skin needling may not be suitable due to the risk of abnormal scar formation.
Allergies & Product Sensitivities
Please inform us of any allergies or previous reactions to skincare ingredients, topical anaesthetics, antiseptics, adhesives or treatment products.
4. Medications & Active Skincare
Isotretinoin (Accutane/Roaccutane)
If you are currently taking or have recently completed isotretinoin treatment, please contact us before booking.
Treatment suitability and any required waiting period will depend on the procedure, your skin condition and medical advice.
Retinol, Retinoids, AHAs & BHAs
Active skincare ingredients such as retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and other exfoliating acids can increase skin sensitivity.
You may be asked to temporarily avoid certain products before and after treatment.
The recommended preparation period will depend on your treatment and skincare routine.
Do not discontinue prescription skincare without consulting your prescribing clinician.
Other Medications & Supplements
Please inform us of any medications or supplements that may affect bleeding, skin sensitivity, immunity or healing.
5. Recent Cosmetic Treatments
Botox & Dermal Fillers
Please inform us if you have recently received cosmetic injectables.
We may recommend spacing treatments to allow the area to settle before proceeding with facial massage, skin needling or energy-based treatments.
Chemical Peels, Laser & Skin Needling
If you have recently undergone a chemical peel, laser treatment, microneedling or another intensive skin procedure, please let us know.
Sufficient recovery time must be allowed between treatments to minimise irritation and complications.
Recent Surgery, Scars & Cosmetic Procedures
If you have recently undergone surgery or have healing scars within the treatment area, medical clearance may be required before treatment.
6. Additional Radiofrequency Safety
Radiofrequency treatments use controlled energy to heat targeted tissue.
These procedures require additional screening and may not be suitable if you have:
A pacemaker, implanted defibrillator or certain electronic implants.
Metal implants within or near the treatment area.
Pregnancy.
Active infection, open wounds or significant inflammation.
Reduced sensation or an impaired ability to detect excessive heat.
Certain medical conditions or medications that may affect treatment safety.
If any of these apply, please contact us before booking.
7. Before Your Appointment
For the best possible treatment experience, we recommend:
Arriving with clean skin and minimal makeup.
Avoiding excessive sun exposure and tanning before your appointment.
Keeping your skin well hydrated.
Avoiding harsh exfoliation immediately before intensive treatments.
Following any treatment-specific skincare preparation instructions.
Informing us of recent cosmetic procedures, changes in medication or changes in your health.
Please note that preparation requirements may differ between general facials, nano needling, microneedling and radiofrequency treatments.
8. Treatment Expectations & Aftercare
Your skin may experience temporary redness, sensitivity, tightness, dryness or mild swelling following certain skin rejuvenation treatments.
More intensive procedures may involve additional downtime and risks, including infection, pigmentation changes, burns or scarring.
Results vary depending on your skin condition, treatment type, lifestyle and individual healing response.
Following your personalised aftercare instructions is essential to support recovery and minimise avoidable complications.
